Inspiring the next generation of Aotearoa’s future leaders

The team at ICE Aotearoa were excited to support our South Auckland community in 2020 by running informative and interactive career expos for High Schools, Intermediates and even primary schools primarily in South Auckland.

The team at ICE Aotearoa are passionate about growing the future workforce leaders of Aotearoa and a large part of doing this is about exposing our tamariki to the different career pathways early in their adolescence; that aren’t necessarily always an obvious pathway.

Our tamariki in Aotearoa are passionate individuals and we wanted to show them that they can apply their passions to their career, they just needed to see the possibilities on how.

At our Career Expos, students were introduced to a wider variety of industries that they hadn’t thought of exploring before. They had the opportunity to speak to people within different businesses and ask them questions about how they got to where they are today.

We had a range of industries get involved in the expos such as Law, Animal Health, Tourism, Infrastructure, Engineering, Media, Emergency Services, Advertising and many more.

The students jumped at every opportunity to talk to the organisations involved and the organisation’s representatives did an amazing job connecting to the students.

ICE is excited to continue to support schools across Aotearoa with career expos to educate our tamariki and inspire our tamariki with new and exciting career possibilities.
